Racing Club de Montevideo, known simply as Racing, is a Uruguayan soccer club in the city of Montevideo. It was founded on April 6, 1919 and participates in the First Division of Uruguay. In 2010 he played for the first time in its history the Copa Libertadores de América. El 6 de abril de 1919, en la zona de San Martín, en el Barrio Reducto, en Montevideo, nació la institución, como parte del furor que causaba en los jóvenes el auge del fútbol en la ciudad. Originalmente se llamó Yuyito, pero, en corto tiempo, se cambió al de Guaycurú (nombre de una calle del barrio), para luego sí pasar a llamarse hasta la actualidad Racing, adoptando también el mote de Cerveceros, para diferenciarse de otros equipos existentes. Adoptó los colores blanco y verde, que eran los que identificaban al tranvía del barrio.
